Not today.

Camshaft Positioning Sensors going bad are scary as hell. (At least I hope it’s the CPS and not the PCM since one is $20 to replace and the other $200). Either way previously it’s puttered then hit the rev limiter at like 2300 rpms. Resetting the computer fixed it. (CPS cel code)

Well today I took it out and it misfired, jerked, engine turned off and it dropped itself into first gear. That was frightening. Checked the obdII and this time I wasn’t getting a cel or any codes. Reset the battery and decided I’ll be replacing the CPS since it’s definitely not a hiccup anymore. Tried to start and it would crank, crank, crank but it wont turn over... shit. Checked for codes again - none. Reset the battery once more and thankfully it started. Limped it home idling (hadn’t left my neighborhood yet) and oddly everything sounded fine.

Either way the Stringbean will not be driven until the CPS is replaced.. hopefully this afternoon.

***update***

Surprisingly easy. Disconnect a radiator hose, pop off a clip then remove a single nut. Not bad. Swapped it for a $30 replacement and at idle and rev it sounded good. Granted the issue usually happens after I’ve pulled away but it’s raining and I’m not pushing my car bad in that.

I get a CEL for this occasionally, then it magically disappears. Not sure what to do about it :)

crank, crank, crank but it wont turn over??? I think you mean it will turn over but not crank, as in crank up or start up.

Lost a bit of blood and flesh from my hands, oil in fresh wounds doesn’t feel good.. but it’s swapped and running.

But you bring up a good point - how much could a rwd + hellcat swap possibly cost.

2.7 and Va Beach - it’s usually only out on the weekends since I have a company vehicle I use for the week. You’ll hear it before you see it.

Just the CEL. I wind it up to 6/7 grand and still get that 4k “shove” :)

Any angry engine experiences I have can be chalked up to my inexperienced left foot.
